Job Opportunities - Welders
APComPower Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary construction company, located in Windsor, CT. Our projects are positioned throughout the country and include new boiler construction as well as maintenance work. We are the largest employer of boilermakers in the United States.
Our projected workload will be increasing dramatically over the next several months and years. We are looking to hire people for jobsite specific positions that could last from a month to a year in different parts of the country. Positions will require temporarily relocating to our different job locations, such as: Pueblo, CO, Kansas City, MO, Pekin, IL, and others.
We need qualified men and women with construction skills in TIG welding. We have a real need for qualified people or those willing to be trained. Candidates interested in welding opportunities within APComPower should have:
- 3 to 5 years of construction tube-welding experience preferred.
- Able to pass an ASME Code Section IX welder qualification performance test for the Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW), Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) and Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) process.
- Position requires working inside and around large utility boilers and related equipment.
- Position requires the need to properly fit up tubing and piping prior to welding with assistance from another welder working with you.
- Tube and pipe welding will be the primary focus of these positions along with some occasional plate welding. Experience with orbital welding a plus but not necessary.
- OSHA ten hour safety training is preferred.
- Must be able to legally work in the United States.
- Must pass a drug test.
We are willing to give some training in TIG welding to the right people on how to become a certified Tube welder that will increase your welding skills for welding boiler tubes and other high-pressure headers and links.

Positions pay $22 - $40 per hour depending on job site location. During the spring and fall outage seasons, maintenance jobs may be working 6 days/week, 10 hour days, others 7 days/week 12 hour days. New construction projects can extend out several months. Depending on customer contract, jobs may or may not have subsistence or travel pay.
You will become part of the Boilermaker Union Organization with union benefits (insurance, pension, etc.) that will be available after a number of hours worked. Our financial compensation for these positions is very competitive with all of the construction industry in general.
