Job Opportunities - Construction Scheduler

ALSTOM Power Inc., a world leader in the supply of power generation services and equipment, is seeking a Construction Scheduler for their APComPower Inc. Construction Services division in Windsor, Connecticut. This is a long-term, temporary assignment.

The successful candidate must be capable of developing a complete EPC project schedule from RFP specifications or related information and documentation with estimators, account representatives, district managers, or other senior staff executives, as well as provide technical oversight to less experienced project control personnel.

Typical duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Reporting to the Director of Project Operations, the individual will create Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and cost accounts to track and report cost, schedule and budget data, prepare time impact analysis, standardize Primavera software configurations and project control graphics and reports and interface with project team members as required.
  • Develop and maintain Estimating Department proposal schedules for bid submission.
  • Develop, track and report on resource loaded project schedules providing the project team and upper management with schedule performance critical path, earned value and variation analysis for full scope contract execution reflecting all phases of project execution through project close out.
  • Develop project recovery schedules and perform risk analysis with project team members..
  • Travel to job site locations around the U.S. is required.

  • Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related field or equivalent.
  • Strong construction scheduling experience essential within the power industry.
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in Project Controls, project planning and scheduling.
  • Hands on experience with Primavera Project Planner (P6)
    versions 6.0 – 7.0.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project
  • Proven experience with resource loading and earned value management reporting systems.
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks and prioritize, be a team player, possess leadership qualities and have strong interpersonal skills.
  • Candidates must have the legal authorization to work in the United States for any employer.
