NACBE Safety Performance Awards
APComPower and Consumers Energy were presented with the National Maintenance Agreement Policy Committee (NMAPC) award for Zero Injury for 2005. The award was given in recognition of the commitment to world-class safety performance and the NMAPC Zero Accident Philosophy demonstrated by APComPower and Consumers Energy. The 6th Annual NMAPC Zero Injury Safety Awards Program dinner took place at the historic Union Station in Washington, D.C. on 26th October 2006.The NMAPC safety awards program is designed to encompass the system of tripartite governance and cooperation, with the intent of recognizing those NMA contractors, owner/clients and affected building trades crafts on projects performed under the terms of the National Maintenance Agreements and who meet the Zero Injury requirements that have been adopted by the Committee. In advocating the Zero Injury Commitment Approach in project and worker safety, the NMAPC, Inc. intends to make world-class performance in safety and health an additional benefit t of performing work under the NMAPC program. Since its inception in 2000, there have been more than 32 million work hours performed under the NMAPC Program reported under the Zero Injury Awards Program.
