NMAPC Safety Performance Awards
APComPower and East Kentucky Power Cooperative were presented with the National Maintenance Agreement Policy Committee (NMAPC) Zero Injury Safety Award for 2006. The award was given in recognition of the commitment to world-class safety performance and the NMAPC Zero Accident Philosophy demonstrated by APComPower and East Kentucky Power Cooperative. The 7th Annual NMAPC Zero Injury Safety Awards Program dinner took place at the historic National Building Museum in Washington, D.C. on October 25, 2007. The award was given in recognition of 143,735 direct hire craft labor hours without a recordable accident at the APComPower project in Maysville, Kentucky.

APComPower and Dominion Energy were presented with the National Maintenance Agreement Policy Committee (NMAPC) Zero Injury Safety Award for 2006. The award was given in recognition of the commitment to world-class safety performance and the NMAPC Zero Accident Philosophy demonstrated by APComPower and Dominion Energy. The 7th Annual NMAPC Zero Injury Safety Awards Program dinner took place at the historic National Building Museum in Washington, D.C. on October 25, 2007. The award was given in recognition of 85,000 direct hire craft labor hours without a recordable accident at the APComPower project in Chester, Virginia.The NMAPC safety awards program is designed to encompass the system of tripartite governance and cooperation, with the intent of recognizing those NMA contractors, owner/clients and affected building trades crafts on projects performed under the terms of the National Maintenance Agreements and who meet the Zero Injury requirements that have been adopted by the Committee. In advocating the Zero Injury Commitment Approach in project and worker safety, the NMAPC, Inc. intends to make world-class performance in safety and health an additional benefit t of performing work under the NMAPC program. Since its inception in 2000, there have been more than 41 million work hours performed under the NMAPC Program reported under the Zero Injury Awards Program.
“Engineer of the Year” Award For APCom Power In The US
The Hartford Section of ASME celebrated National Engineering Week in mid-February. Among the ten distinguished recipients of “Engineer of the Year” awards were three well-respected engineers from Alstom Power's Windsor, Connecticut facility.Don Campbell, the recipient from APComPower, was honored for his years of providing innovative construction engineering support on numerous construction and rehabilitation proposals and projects that resulted in contract awards for Alstom Power and reduced outages for customers. Phil Lafave, the recipient from Boiler and Environmental Plant Services, was honored for his many years of providing technical expertise to customers and Tech Service engineers concerning all aspects of the boilers and auxiliary equipment we service. And Glen Jukkola, the recipient from the Power Plant Laboratories, was honored for his expertise and years of support in the development of Alstom Power's CFB boiler technology, his innovative moving bed technology and his leadership in engineering economics.
They were in excellent company with the other distinguished recipients from Hartford Steam Boiler, Pratt & Whitney, Hamilton Sundstrand and Northeast Utilities.

APComPower and Consumers Energy were presented with the National Maintenance Agreement Policy Committee (NMAPC) award for Zero Injury for 2005. The award was given in recognition of the commitment to world-class safety performance and the NMAPC Zero Accident Philosophy demonstrated by APComPower and Consumers Energy. The 6th Annual NMAPC Zero Injury Safety Awards Program dinner took place at the historic Union Station in Washington, D.C. on 26th October 2006.The NMAPC safety awards program is designed to encompass the system of tripartite governance and cooperation, with the intent of recognizing those NMA contractors, owner/clients and affected building trades crafts on projects performed under the terms of the National Maintenance Agreements and who meet the Zero Injury requirements that have been adopted by the Committee. In advocating the Zero Injury Commitment Approach in project and worker safety, the NMAPC, Inc. intends to make world-class performance in safety and health an additional benefit t of performing work under the NMAPC program.
